I1m sorry, but a did'nt receive this product until at time, please take the information about this.thanks.
He exudes total passion and joy. The guy is 58 years old and he's bouncing around like a 20-something aerobics instructor. I'd forgotten how many huge hits each band had. When they play together imagine double horn sections, double drummers, guitars, vocals. I've only recently gotten a blu-ray player so I wanted to buy a couple of less expensive blu-ray DVDs to try it out. In the middle they each play a full set by themselves. That had to be one amazing mix in post-production.The icing on the cake is watching EWF's bassist.
He is an absolute joy to see. I think I only paid $11 for this. They start the show and end the show playing together. it's an unbelievable sound and even with that many players it's not too busy. Let me say that I got my money's worth after watching the first 15 minutes. Wow.
Two great bands that band great together. As a sound engineer I can tell you the audio mix is superb.
This is basically a PBS pledge-week style performance. If you have good memories associated with these groups, I suggest you hang on to them and skip this disc.
Otherwise, take a pass. For a performance that's shot beautifully and sounds fantastic, I recommend checking out Weekend On The Rocks [live CD & DVD] That's something to look out for on future purchases, because after all it's about the music, and when the music professionals don't want to receive credit something's not right.
It's not fun to have your cherished memories butchered by struggling performers. It's telling that no person involved in the audio production would take credit on either the liner or on IMDB. If you're a big fan of Lawrence Welk PBS pledge drives then go for it.
I had high hopes for this after reading so many positive reviews, but I'm sorry to say it's a pretty big disappointment. With little exception, the performances are uninspired.
Thankfully the video producer and director let us know who they were, so we have some idea who was responsible for the bad lighting, washed out video and amateur camera work.
Staging and lighting in the concert were below par by today's standards, but the fun on the stage and the sheer number of musicians counteracts the lack of dazzling lighting.Chicago was excellent (their wind players especially had a lot of energy and played with inspiration), but EWF had the most mojo here. Bluray is an excellent medium, but only as good as the original recording. If you're a hard core EWF and/or Chicago fan, it's worth buying, otherwise, rent it. The quality of this DVD in Bluray is very good - both visually and in sound quality. Not Stunning, but very good. Chicago was best and most youthful when playing with EWF.This is a fun get together concert.
Suffice it to say that if music is at all capable of connecting us with the divine, this performance offers that transcendent joy.Very highly recommended for any Earth, Wind & Fire fan. They sounded great back in the day, and they sound great on this DVD -- and still fresh. Note: This review is for the Earth, Wind & Fire set only (got Disc 1 from Netflix). If you like Earth, Wind & Fire, you'll love this DVD. This very special band innovated a unique sound which fuses funk, soul, jazz, pop, and more. The DVD sound quality is excellent, the musicianship and singing are superb and tight, and they perform with sincere and infectious enthusiasm.
